The Secretary and Chairman of the Achimota bus terminal, Mr. Victor Owusu has said in an interview with Kaakyire on (Adrivafour Mmre) that, passengers who always find delight in boarding vehicles at the roadside are at a serious risk.
He added that, most at times passengers feel they are in a hurry and for that matter, they cannot come to the station to sit in vehicles that to them will take forever to move.
Forgetting that if every passenger should come to the station, it will not take much time for the vehicle to be full he said.
He added that, it is advisable for passengers to pick vehicles at the station because, there are times where a passenger can leave his or her item in a car. The moment that passenger remembers and comes to the station, there is a strong assurance that the items will be found.
Drivers who load at the roadside have also made the bus terminal that was built to ensure the safety of passengers useless. Drivers who are caught and dealt with as a result of loading by the roadside are later on released so they are not seeing the seriousness in stopping this attitude of endangering the lives of passengers.
Mr. Victor said he is therefore appealing to the Transport Minister Kwasi Ofori Asaimah and the Minister of roads and highways Amoako Atta to come to their aid to curb this misconduct from drivers.
