The Bono East regional secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has revealed that the party doesn’t need the endorsement of Bernard Allotey Jacobs to win in the Central Region.
David Boakye, explained he failed woefully as the regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2016 general elections by reducing his party’s seat from 18 to a paltry 5, saying Bernard Allotey Jacobs will add nothing to the fortunes of the ruling party.
“When Allotey Jacobs was elected as the Central Regional Chairman for the NDC, they had 18 parliamentary seats and NPP had only 5.
“Under his watch, the NDC lost most of their seats from 18 to only 4 whilst the NPP increased from 5 to 19. Meaning that he failed as the regional chairman of the NDC so why will the NPP rely on his endorsement to win in the Central Region.”
Mr Bernard Allotey Jacobs was spotted together with President Akufo-Addo at the commissioning of the Ekumfi Pineapple Juice factory and he’s reported to have said: “If Nana Addo continues creating jobs like he is doing now, and Ghanaians give him another four-year term he will turn Ghana into Paradise.”
David Boakye who is the former SRC President for the University of Cape Coast made these remarks about the Ekumfi Pineapple Juice factory during the NPP Manifesto launch in Cape Coast.
“This Ekumfi factory won’t be opened and then shut down overnight for maintenance like what happened some time ago. This is the difference between this Nana Addo government and that of former president Mahama who opened Komenda sugar factory which didn’t last for more than two weeks and it was closed down which made no one around the Komenda area to have any benefits from it.
“But Ekumfi factory has been beneficial to a lot of people since it was established about 8 months ago and now the President has seen that everything is in place that’s why he went to commission it.”
