A notorious armed robber on police wanted list has been smoked out from his hideout at Darkuman, a suburb of Accra in the Greater Accra Region.
Faisal Mohammed, a 34-year-old notorious armed robber and an ex-convict has been on the radar of the security agencies for robbery and murder cases which occurred at Abrepo junction- Kumasi, Ashaiman and Kasoa.
The ex-convict after his numerous criminal activities was reported to have gone into hiding until the intelligence personnel from the SWAT Unit of the Ghana Police Service proceeded to the location and arrested him.
A search conducted on the suspect revealed an ECOWAS identity card with suspect photograph and bearing Frank Kojo Forson as his name.
Suspect told police on interrogation that he was convicted for robbery in 2012 and sentenced to 30years imprisonment by Accra circuit court ‘1’ and that he appealed the sentence in 2017 and it was reduced to ten year’s effective the day of sentence.
He stated further that he was released from prison on March 13, 2019.
Meanwhile, police who confirmed his arrest to MyNewsGh.co revealed that efforts are being made to contact the various commands in which he is wanted for other crimes he committed after he was released from incarceration.
