Dr. Emmanuel Adusei-Poku who is an economist, a chartered accountant and a lecturer at the University of Capecoast has said that, politicans should stop behaving as if the monies they use for national projects are their personal monies. He said this in an interview with Dofopa FM.
He said this as a result of the President’s promises he made before attaining office in 2016.
Though the president promised to reduce taxes but the taxes rather keeps increasing.
No country can say it doesn’t take taxes because that is the only means to generate revenue to undertake projects.
The sad part of it is that, after constructing roads and other infrastructures, politicians are bold to say they did all these for us (Ghanaians) forgetting it’s our own money, he added.
” I will take this opportunity to tell politicians to stop throwing dust into our eyes”
If you reduce taxes, make sure the increment will be something everyone will be comfortable with Mr. Emmanuel to politicians.
According to him, every country needs taxes to help in the development of the country.
