Habitants at Anyaa palas-town are calling on the government to come to their aid before the damaged bridge kills them during this rainy season.
In an interview with some habitants from the area, they lamented that, anytime there is a heavy downpour, it enters their rooms destroying lots of their properties.
Aunty Lizzy who resides in the area also added that, some habitants have taken advantage of the situation and have established a block factory with the massive sand that has filled the main road.
Speaking to the Assembly man of the area Hon. Michael Acquah, he stated that, he has complained severally to the road engineer and the Municipal Chief Executive who are in charge of the project but all his effort has proven futile.
According to Mr. Acquah, the engineer who started working on the bridge sometime ago has stopped because he is no longer getting any support from anywhere.
” We are not able to collect the sand after digging it from the bridge because the encroachment there is so serious”
Anytime it rains, the sand fills the main road which makes driving on the road very difficult and results in car crushes at times.
Mr. Acquah is pleading with authorities to come to their aid.
